"VOICE IN THE STILLNESS"
"SEX AND SOUL" ...an excerpt

from Marianne Williamson's A WOMAN'S WORTH
"When the enchanted woman has come into her power, then and only then has she the inner strength to turn her face toward someone else.  Only then does she have the authority to meet another person's gaze and hold it.

A lover is a high-stakes proposition.  He is the best of all worlds, or the worst of all worlds.  We have no capacity to deal with another person's power effectively until our own is pure and intact.  Knowing this we begin to understand the relationship between our search for the self and our search for the beloved.  For the Goddess inside us, there is no distinction between the two.

The lover is not who we hide behind; the lover is who appears before us as we emerge from the shadows of our own delusions.  A goddess does not go and "get" a lover, she is a true lover, and happiness gathers unto her.  Love is not something that comes into us from someone else; it is an extension of our own minds, reverberating back to us in what seems to be another person's smile."

"We usually know a lover is on the way well before he gets here.  As often as we hear stories like "I met my partner when I least expected to meet anyone", on some level, we know that's nonsense.

A woman in touch with herself can sense the coming of things, and the coming of love is like a deer running through a  forest on the way to your door. We can feel a love approaching and when we are in touch with the Goddess we prepare ourselves in advance.

We enter a divine room when the Goddess meets her consort and beckons him to enter.   Her joyful  hello is often "hello again!" for in that place we can remember that we've known each other before.  How glad we are to be back whenever we find ourselves in love together.

How important it is to know that he is as tender as we are and just as lost and just as scared.  Until we know this, we miss the point.  We are meant to be the healing of the wound; and if we will allow it, our love will heal us both.

This is the journey of every woman who has loved a man.  May we all find sustenance in knowing there's a remarkable prize waiting for us as we approach the truth.

We are so lucky to be women,  and those men are lucky to know us.  We are so full of miracles for all who come to us with pure and open hearts.

We are so full of love for those who approach with tender souls.

We are so full of beauty for those who believe it's there.

And men are such a gorgeous lot, the boys who made the climb from arrogantly weak to the humbly strong.  The initiate into the ways of love is like a letter from God telling us that he's here.  The initiate, both man and woman, has seen a dark night and then seen another day.

There is no substitute for the fires that purify us; whatever they were, they served a purpose.  And now we will know how to love and be loved, and never again will we lose our way."
